COMMUNITY SERVICE RESTITUTION -Giving back to the
Community
COMMUNITY SERVICE RESTITUTION
Defendants ordered to perform CSR will be assigned to agencies whom have expressed an interest in participating and who have entered into written agreements with this CSCD to provide offenders opportunities to comply with court-ordered community service restitution. Defendants assigned to an agency or organization for CSR will remain there until discharged by the supervisor of the organization / agency or the probation department. Defendants will be screened to insure they are suitable before being assigned to an organization or agency. Defendants may not perform CSR work for their employer without prior approval of the Director. In addition, the assignment should not be one in which the defendant would be involved if the defendant were not doing CSR work. Actual CSR completed will be credited to individuals completing such time, but in certain circumstances, there may be instances when extra credit may be given as approved by the officers. However, when this does occur, the instance must be documented and justified before the time will be approved by the Director. Incarcerated defendants assigned trustee status may be allowed to work outside of their place of incarceration and given extra time credits. Therefore this work will not be credited toward court ordered CSR. Defendants who are under direct supervision status of the Winkler County CSCD may request permission to make Food bank donations for CSR. This is intended for defendants whose work schedules make performing other assignments difficult. Donations will not be accepted for CSR from defendants who are delinquent on their court ordered fees. Questions regarding CSR should be addressed to the Director.
